Empowering Women

A quick read of the word origin of ‘empower’, cliched by regular usage in writings today and especially with women, leads you to understand that ‘em’ is the French prefix meaning ‘into’ or ‘in’. So what’s different then? The word ‘woman’ carries the man ‘into’ the word or ‘in’ the word; so power triggers from here for a woman….for she is the beginning and the prefix to the man. So empowerment has always been there! A slight digression and a split of the word as em-power-ment. Then ‘em’ calls for empathy..empathy from a mother to the daughter, empathy from the mother-in-law to the daughter-in-law, empathy from the sister to the sister-in-law, from a woman to another woman. Likewise empathy begins from the womb, the most powerful gift to womanhood. As the newly conceived woman, feels for the womb and grows affectionate to the fact that she is giving birth to a new life, boy or girl is immaterial. Definition of what is acceptable or non acceptable for a man or a woman is defined by mankind. Nurture the womb, the newly born infant, the girl-child as she blossoms to a woman with no acceptance of borders and you will experience empathy and empowerment.
